| Yazoo (known as Yaz in the U.S.) are an English synthpop duo from Basildon, Essex. They had a number of top ten hits in the British charts in the early 1980s. Formed in late 1981 by former Depeche Mode songwriter Vince Clarke (synthesizer) and English singer Alison Moyet (vocals), Yazoo was signed to Mute Records in the United Kingdom and (as "Yaz") to Sire Records in the United States. Yazoo's debut single "Only You" backed with "Situation," was released on 15 March 1982 and rose to number two in the UK charts. Yazoo released two successful studio albums, Upstairs at Eric's in 1982 and You and Me Both in 1983. Shortly after, Moyet and Clarke decided to break up. Moyet pursued a solo career while Clarke went on to form Erasure, another synth pop duo. Yazoo temporarily reunited in 2008 with a tour in Europe and the United States and the release of a four-disc box set. Though short-lived, Yazoo continues to influence and inspire many of today's bands, including LCD Soundsystem, Shiny Toy Guns, Blaqk Audio, Hercules and Love Affair, La Roux, and Gil Mantera's Party Dream. more... |

| SHIPPING RATES | Postage and packing for UK is as follows: LP's / 10" / 12" / Vids / books - £2.85 for first item, £1.25 for each additional. Please note double LPs count as two for shipping purposes. Items are sent second class. 7" / CD / cassettes - £1.60 for first item, 40p for each additional. (Note if ordering LP's and 7", all 7" are 40p. Again, doubles count as two). Box sets are priced individually for shipping. Please contact us for a quote. Recorded Delivery (UK) is 95p extra. Special Delivery (UK) (registered) is now weight dependant. We would suggest recorded delivery for items up to 30 pounds in value. 1 LP or 7" will usually be around £6.35 for Special Delivery. For heavier parcels we will charge at cost. Postage and packing for overseas is as follows: European - LP/10"/videos are £5.50, additional items are £2.25; CDs/7" are £3.50 with additional items £1 each. Rest of the world - LP/10"/videos are £8.50, additional items £3.50; CDs/7" are £4.50, additional items are £1.50 each. Recorded postage overseas will usually be £5.15 extra. There is a £0.35 charge for paying by Debit Card where the total value of the order is less than £10.00. Due to high bank charges we can only accept Cheques for orders of £10 or over. For Paypal orders 5% of the total value of the order is added to cover Paypal fees. |
